Millwright Job Description
D1 Resources is looking for highly motivated and experienced millwrights to join our team.
This is a full-time position requiring travel, approximately 21 days out and 7 days home.
Work days are 7 days a week and at least 10 hours per day.
Responsibilities:
* Move machinery and equipment using hoists, dollies, rollers and trucks.
* Install, repair, replace and/or dismantle machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blue prints and other drawings.
* Assemble and install equipment using hand tools and power tools.
* Align machines and equipment using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, micrometers, lasers and plumb bobs.
* Assemble machinery and bolts, welds, rivets or otherwise fastens them to foundation or other structures using hand tools and power tools.
* Perform routine preventative maintenance and lubrication on machinery and equipment.
* Select and use standard rigging appropriately and as deigned.
* Tack-weld fitted parts together according to blueprints.
* Use grinding and thermal cutting operations to obtain various textures and sizes for metal parts.
* Remove high spots and cut bevels using hand files, portable grinders and cutting torches.
* Maintain good working knowledge of the welding characteristics of metals such as carbon steel, stainless steel and aluminum.
Requirements:
* 2 years' experience working as a millwright
* Must be willing to travel and work overtime.
* Provide own reliable transportation to and from projects.
* Mush have own tools that meet minimum tool requirements.
* Be able to work safely at heights.
* Knowledge of Rigging and Crane signaling.
* Have a general understanding of welding principles and general ability to weld (MIG, TIG, Stick).
* Work within precise limits or standards of accuracy.
* Follow all safety policies and procedures.
* Communicate with management along with all facility personal in a respectful manner to best represent excellent work ethic
and provide our clients with the highest possible level of service.
* Look at flat drawings or pictures and visualize how they would look as solid objects.
* Use logical step-by-step procedures in work.
* Make decisions based on measurable information
* Perform a variety of duties which may change often.
* Operate standard construction machinery which may include forklifts, scissor lifts and boom lifts for example.
* Must pass drug test.
* Follow instructions and read blueprints or schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
Physical Requirements:
* Coordinate eye-hand movements; Use hands and fingers fully; reach for manipulate and feel objects; stoop, kneel, crouch and/or crawl;
* Climb and maintain body balance on ladders, scaffolding or high structures; and see and hear well (either naturally or with correction);
* Lift and carry objects weighing up to 100 pounds.
* Stoop, lay, bend or squat for long periods of time.
